CAPE TOWN CARNIVAL

Feathers? Check. Glitter? Check. Next: drive feet and fun to Green Point’s famous Fan Walk for the annual Cape Town Carnival. We set out to do more than just get people on pavements. We want the city — and the world — to understand the why behind the wow. The stories of opportunity, of job creation, of unity. Of that one costume designer in Langa who hand-glued 800 rhinestones on a headpiece. Because for many, Carnival isn’t just one night.

FORMULA E

Bring the world’s most high-voltage motorsport event — Formula E — to Cape Town with a bang. No pressure, just the first-ever Southern African race on the global calendar, a street circuit in the heart of the City. Our mission was to make sure the Cape Town E-Prix looked world-class on every screen, every front page, and in every Insta story. Get South Africa talking. Get international media listening. Get bums in seats. And make it all look effortless. Mission accomplished.

PFL

Justin Clarke, Nkosi Ndebele and Smiley Savage were little-known athletes. But ahead of the PFL’s debut in Africa we needed to turn them into local legends. The PFL team landed in Cape Town needing full-service PR support, with just weeks to go before their first-ever African event in 2025. The goal was to build momentum, manage the media, control the narrative, and make fight night a knockout. Simple on paper. Wild in practice. It was such a hit with South African audiences that this event was followed by the PFL Africa event in Pretoria in April 2026.

Pesto Princess

Pesto Princess wanted to embark on the three-month PR campaign to celebrate their 25th anniversary and target new customers outside of the Western Cape. The quirky story of Pesto Princess founder Kathleen starting her side hustle to fund her opera career was an easy sell,  but she needed Brooke Buckland to turn the spotlight on her 100-strong team of women. A three-month PR campaign resulted in Pesto Princess being featured across South Africa’s top titles – including Bruce Whitfield’s Business Week, Food24, ETV Breakfast and the Money Show with Steven Grootes.

AFRICAN BOATING CONFERENCE

V&A Waterfront, October 2025: The venue and date for the inaugural African Boating Conference - an inspiring gathering of local and international roleplayers in the boating industry. Conference organiser and powerhouse Veda Pretorius brought on Brooke Buckland to publicise the event and secure media coverage for the exciting developments, milestones and opportunities in this often overlooked sector of the South African economy. The event also gave Brooke Buckland (and Amy Mac Iver in particular) an opportunity to put another of their skills to work – conference presenting.

WRX

Help attract a wide audience to a little-known global motorsport event held on the outskirts of Cape Town. The challenge? Conceptualise THREE creative (read: death-defying) activations. The response: An offroad bike climbing a three-story spiral staircase and storming into a radio studio live on air. Racing drivers learning the art of dragon boat racing. All in a day’s work for the Brooke Buckland team.
