British politician and anti-apartheid fighter Lord Peter Hain and his wife, Elizabeth, recently visited Ukhanyo Primary to witness the work of Brooke Buckland client MasiSports.
eNCA and Daily Maverick were invited to attend the visit, and Lord Hain spoke to both media outlets about the lack of similar facilities, PT lessons and after-school sport in the vast majority of SA schools. He said: “SA could, for example, have not just one Siya Kolisi, but thousands of them. That is the potential here. If you had similar programmes like this across the country SA sporting prowess will jump massively. This should be replicated across the country.”
